Start the countdown because the much anticipated Hyundai Creta facelift is finally making its global debut on January 16, 2024. The facelift in India will have fresh exterior styling, new features and new technology. The Creta facelift will launch in the market by early 2024.
Recently the Creta EV was also spotted during its test runs in South Korea and is also expected to soon in 2024 and will compete the Maruti Suzuki eVX.
Hyundai Creta facelift: The King gets a makeover
The current-gen Creta has been around since 2020 in India and it is been on sale in a few foreign countries too. Interestingly in some countries like the Middle East, Hyundai updated the Creta’s front and made it more Tucson-like, a design which the brand calls Parametric Hidden Lights. However, this version of Creta never made it to our country.
The Creta facelift will come with an updated bumper, revised tailgate and LED DRLs similar to the ones in Exter. Apart from this, the updated Creta will also sport a split-unit vertical headlamp design with cube-like detailing and an updated front grille.
The sides however won’t get any major upgrades, except for some minor tweaks and new alloy wheel designs and some Creta facelift test mules have also been spotted with 18-inch wheels similar to the Alcazar, which means some of the trims on the upcoming SUV will get larger wheels.
If we go by the spy spots, the updated Creta will go on sale in India early next year and the design changes will bring it more in line with the newer Hyundai models like the new Santa Fe, Exter and Palisade.
Coming to its features, the updated Creta will come with an ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera, like the Seltos and its smaller sibling, Venue. Apart from that, the SUV is also expected to get a fully digital and coloured instrument and cluster and a new upholstery. However, other features like ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and a panoramic sunroof are expected to be carried over from the current Creta.
By the way, all changes in the Facelift aren’t cosmetic or tech-related. The Creta facelift will now be powered by the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit that produces a solid 158 hp and this same engine powers other Hyundai models such as the Hyundai Alcazar and Verna as well as Kia Seltos and Kia Carens.
After its launch in 2024, the Creta will continue to lock heads with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Honda ELevate, Toyota Hyryder and new Kia Seltos.
