After we gave the news about the reveal, Toyota finally unwraps the 9th generation Camry on the global stage and the sedan looks stunning. The latest Gen Camry gets new exterior styling, an updated interior and a hybrid powertrain. As said earlier, the Camry alone has stood its ground in a world where the demand for SUVs is rising with each passing day and still retains popularity in Europe and America. With the new gen, the Camry gives out a message that it’s here to stay.
Toyota Camry Interior
This is probably one of the biggest changes in the new-gen Camry. The sedan’s cabin gets some thorough technological updates and improvements. Firstly, the sedan (depending on what trim you choose) is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch HUD, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
You can also get either the black and blue-themed cabin or the Cockpit Red. Apart from that, the Camry also packs essential ADAS features such as traffic jam assist, park assist with emergency braking, lane change assist, front cross-traffic alert and a 360-degree monitor.
Toyota Camry Exterior
Starting from the front side, the Camry now has a more prominent and sporty design with sleeker DRLs and headlamps. The front bumper has also changed and now features wider air inlets. Coming to the back side, the sedan gets a new diffuser dual exhaust tips and a new design for tail lamp clusters which looks refreshing. The sloping roofline has been retained.
Toyota Camry Powertrain
The Camry also gets an update for its heart and is now offered with a single hybrid powertrain. The motor in question is a 2.5-litre hybrid engine that churns out 225 hp and 232 hp respectively and can be bought with front and AWD configurations. It’s underpinned by Toyota’s new TNGA-K Platform.
The new 9th Gen Camry is also expected to come to India since the 8th Generation Camry is being sold here and while it’s in no way the game changer sedan for Toyota here, especially with a price tag of 50+ price tag which I explained before doesn’t really works in favour of the company since buyers would give the brand name preference here. However, it still has consistent sales numbers of 150-200 units per month, which is okay for a premium car like the Camry. Expect the price to be somewhere around Rs 55 lakh.
