Hero Xoom 125R and 160 To Launch Soon

After the spectacular launch of the Xtreme 125R and Mavrick 440, Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch the much anticipated Xoom 125R and Xoom 160 maxi-scooter in India in the 2nd half of the current financial year. The launches will be an effort from the brand to improve its market share in the mid-size and premium segments.

Hero Xoom 160

Hero has always been a strong contender in the entry-level, 100-110 cc commuter segment but it has been struggling in the premium market due to its limited offerings. That’s why the company has shifted its focus towards 125 cc and premium segments since last year.

The company had the highest number of launches in FY24, with more models in the premium and above 125cc segments including the Xtreme 125R, Xtreme 200S 4V, Xtreme 160R 4V, Karizma XMR and Mavrick 440. (Excluding the Harley X440, since its a co-developed project of Hero)

The management stated that with the launch of the 125 cc and 160 cc variants of Xoom as well as the revised Xoom 110, the company will strengthen its scooter portfolio.

Hero MotoCorp’s CEO Niranjan Gupta believes that these new launches along with the expansion of new format stores – Hero 2.0 and Premia, will drive volume growth and market share gains in the premium and 125 cc in the long run.

He further states that there would be a couple of more products coming in and in terms of the broad spectrum, Hero MotoCorp will hugely cover the big white spaces by the end of March 2025. The Company’s management further states that the company will consistently grow volumes in the further, while aggressively growing its premium portfolio.

The company is also currently increasing its 440cc platform and Kartizma to 10,000 units per month in another 1 or 2 months. The capacity of the Xtreme will also be increased to 1,000 units per day by June-July.
