Mahindra XUV700 MX Variant Launched – Highlights

The XUV700 MX 7-seater is powered by the same 2.2-litre diesel engine as the MX 5-seater and generates 156 hp and comes with only a 6-speed manual transmission. The 7-seater MX is also expected to get the 5-seater 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit and 6-speed manual soon.

Although sharing the same engine, the MX 7-seater costs Rs 40,000 higher than the 5-seater variant. Both the cars share a list of some features such as an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto, 4 speakers, multiple USB ports, a 7-inch MID, a centre armrest with storage, an adjustable headrest for passengers, follow-me-home headlights, tilt adjustable steering, powered ORVMs and ISOFIX anchors.

The price increase is probably because the 7-seater variant will sport a 3rd row and will include extra features such as 3rd row AC vents, 2nd-row centre armrest and a 60:40 one-touch tumble function from the other 7-seaters. The new 7-seater MX is also expected to come in the same 5 colour schemes – Midnight Black, Everest White, Dazzling Red, Red Rage and Napoli Black.

With the new entry-level MX trim, the Mahindra XUV700 range is now more affordable and premium at the same time, since the higher-spec XUV700 went live recently as well. This also means the Mahindra XUV-seater now costs less than the Tata Safari ( Rs 16.19 Lakh) and the 7-seater diesel version of the MG Hector Plus (Rs 17 Lakh).
