The new-gen KTM 390 Adventure has been spotted once again during a test run in India. The motorcycle is expected to launch by the end of this year in the country and will bring some big changes to the table compared to the current model.
KTM 390 Adventure spied again – Highlights
The Adventure bike segment growing at a rapid pace, especially the 350 to 450 cc middleweight class, allowing manufacturers to explore more and bring new adventure tourers into the market such as the RE Himalayan 450 and this is quite a welcoming growth.
The 390 ADV will get its biggest update yet and has been caught testing in India as well as in other countries as well. Interestingly, KTM expanded the 390 Adventure’s lineup by adding an entry-level X variant last year and received well by the market.
The upcoming update gives the bike a more relaxed stance and tall transparent windscreen along with a more muscular fuel tank and a headlight design which is essentially a blend of the RC 390 and the naked 390. Along with this, the bike also gets an underbelly exhaust giving it a clean side profile. Now whether this will hinder its hardcore off-road capabilities is something the future can only tell.
Keeping it aside, the rear profile also gets a sharp design with a new tail lamp along with split seats and grab rails. You could also get to see a taller 5-inch TFT Instrument cluster from the 390 Duke. The suspension of the ADV will be fully handled by the adjustable USD forks and monoshock rear suspension.
When it comes to braking, the front and rear disc brakes will be supported by a dual-channel ABS system, ensuring enough command on both the road and trails. The Test mule seemingly rode on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with a possibility of an optional 21-inch front wheel.
This second sighting of the KTM 390 Adventure test mule also suggests that it will be powered by the new 399 cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine that is used by the latest 390 Duke and produces a maximum of 46 PS and 39 Nm of Torque. The ADV will be priced higher than eh Himilayan 450 since it packs way more features and technologies than the current ADV model.
