The new 3rd Gen Porsche Panamera has been launched in India, priced at Rs 1.70 Crore (ex-showroom). Alongside the launch, the deliveries also commenced today, May 4.
New Porsche Panamera in India – What’s new?
Design-wise, the new Panamera carries the Porsche spirit with minor tweaks to the outside such as the front which now gets revised headlights and an additional air intake. The overall profile of the updated sedan remains the same except for the redesigned window line and new wheels. The back now also gets a full-width taillight, similar to the Taycan sports.
The inside of the updated Panamera remains a treat and draws inspiration from the Taycan and the new Cayenne SUV, with new features such as a 12.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.9-inch driver’s display and an optional passenger display. Other features such as matrix LED headlamps, a drive mode selector integrated into the steering wheel, wireless charging, electric seats, 6 airbags and parking assistance are standard.
While the new Panamera comes with an option of hybrid assistance in International markets, the India-spec model gets a 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 petrol unit which churns out 348 hp and 500 Nm of Torque, up by 22.69 hp and 50 Nm from the previous model. The unit comes with an 8-speed PDK transmission which channels the power to the rear wheel. The car goes 0 to 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds (claimed) with a top speed of 272 kmph. Additionally, the Panamera also gets a new adaptive air suspension as standard AKA Active Suspension Management (PASM) as Porsche calls it.
Porsche is also expected to launch a more powerful V8 Panamera model in India soon although hybrid models will not be offered in the country. Upon launching, the V8 Panamera will lock horns with the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-door Coupe.
