The upcoming 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been spotted testing again in India and this time it has been spotted in winter testing in Himachal Pradesh. Interestingly, the spy shots this time also reveal that the compact sedan will get a segment-first feature which is the sunroof.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire – Highlights
The new Dzire is expected to have more or less the same feature set as the upcoming Swift, however, the addition of the Sunroof sets the Compact sedan apart from its segment competitors. It is also unknown whether the Swift hatchback will get a sunroof or not. In foreign markets, such as Japan and the UK, the new-gen Swift does not get a sunroof.
The overall styling of the dzire’s cabin will be shared with its hatchback sibling Swift while the aesthetics, buttons and switchgear will be identical to the Baleno or Fronx. The Dzire will also get lighter colour materials and touches of brushed aluminium and faux wood to make it different to its hatch counterpart.
At the highest level of the specs sheet, the Dzire will likely be the best-equipped car in its segment, courtesy of the sunroof. Other features include a steering-mounted cruise control and infotainment buttons, a floating 9.0-inch touchscreen unit, a large digital MID, an auto climate control system, keyless entry and more. Unfortunately, the ADAS tech which is currently available in the new Swift globally, will not likely make it in the Indian market. But, a 360-degree will possibly be equipped with the upcoming sedan.
As for powertrains, the Dzire will be equipped with the 1.2-litre Z Series petrol unit which is used on the new Swift in the Japanese market. This 3-cylinder unit produces 82 hp and 108 Nm of Torque and also comes with a mild-hybrid option. The units will come paired with a 5-speed manual and AMT is expected to be offered too along with a CNG-powered version scheduled for a later date after launch.
