The Mercedes-Benz EQG Concept is going to be revealed soon at the Bharat Mobility Show 2024. Showcased back in 2021, this is Mercedes’ take on its iconic car’s being an EV. The production form of the Mercedes-Benz Concept EQG is expected to debut within the next 2-3 years.
Mercedes Benz Concept EQG – Highlights
The Concept EQG retains the shape and aesthetics of the G-Wagon but with an electric motor and a few extra elements. The front fascia is similar to that of the G-Wagon, but it is now fitted with full LEDs. On the sides, you can see the boxy stance of the SUV along with the large chrome wheels, while at the back, the spare tyre-on-the-door design has been retained but the tyre has been swapped by a box which houses the charging cables, giving it a more rugged yet sophisticated look.
Although no interior design has been revealed by Mercedes as of now, it is expected to be made with eco-recycled materials and come equipped with features like dual digital displays, considering the brand will go by the current Mercedes SUVs cabin design.
Coming to the powertrain, the brand has given no official statements yet, although it confirmed that each wheel of the motor will get an individual motor on both axles giving it a 4-wheel drive and allowing it to make tank turns, which we mentioned on another story while comparing it with the Hyundai Mobion Concept’s Crabwalk Feature. The expected driving range is 450 – 500 km.
