After announcing the delay in the Start Of Production and the launch postponed to early 2025, the Maruti Suzuki eVX was spotted during test runs in India yet again. The spy shots revealed a few interesting features of the upcoming EV SUV.
As per the spy shots, the Maruti eVX will get a cabin that will be very much different from its current portfolio. Key elements worth noting include a new two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, rotary dial for dive modes, new freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, interior chrome door handles and an auto-dimming IRVM.
From the outside, the car will get new projector headlights along with new front and rear bumper designs. Apart from that, the EV will also get new C-pillar mounted door handles, a fresh set of alloy wheels, a shark-fin antenna and LED tail lights.
Although Maruti Suzuki hasn’t revealed any technical specifications yet, the eVX EV SUV will be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that will deliver a range of 550 km on a single full charge which is quite impressive.
The eVX is going to be Maruti Suzuki’s first-ever electric offering and that’s the reason it’s often critiqued for being a late entrant in the EV market. But Maruti states that this is the perfect time for them to make an entry in the EV space since the EV market share has gone up and currently stands at 3 to 5%. Also, since the eVX is the brand’s first-ever EV offering, it decided to solve the issues first and then launch the fully developed vehicle with smooth production and distribution, hence it decided to postpone the SOP by at least 5 months and launch by next year.
After launch, the eVX along with all the upcoming EVs by Maruti will likely be sold by the brand’s premium NEXA outlets.
