Kia Carens X-line has recently been launched in India and is the top variant of the Carens lineup. The MPV comes in two variants – turbo-petrol DCT and Diesel AT. The price of this trim lies in the range of Rs 18.94 to Rs 19.44 lakh, meaning it’s almost Rs 40,000 pricier than the luxury Plus variants.
Kia Carens X-line – Design
The Kia Carens X-line remains identical to other variants except the new variant gets the all-black treatment. It gets a new exclusive Matte Graphite paint job. Apart from that, it gets a front radiator grille garnish, and other elements like roof rails will get a glossy black finish.
The car also has 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels with a blacked-out centre cap. An X-line logo is also present on the tailgate to differentiate it from other trims.
Kia Carens X-line – Interior and features
The MPV features the ‘Xclusive Two-Tone Black and Splendid Sage Green’ theme on the inside with the seats, armrests, gear and steering wheel also having contrast orange stitching.
The main highlight is the new 10.1-inch infotainment system that is placed behind the front passenger seat, and it gets a screen mirroring function and some news apps with a mobile app for remote control.
Based on the highest Luxury plus trim, the X-Line will get all the other features seen on other top-spec Carens such as an 8-speaker Bose sound system, paddle shifters, wireless phone charger, sunroof, air purifier and ventilated front seats and safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill assist control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and more.
Also, unlike the standard Carens, this variant will be a 6-seater config with second-row captain seats.
Kia Carens X-line – Powertrain
Under the hood, the X-line will sport a 158 hp producing 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces a lower 114 hp. But there won’t be any choice of transmission since the Carens X-line turbo petrol will only have the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the diesel will only come paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
Kia Carens X-line – Rivals
The Kia Carens X-line will rival the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki XL 6, Toyota Rumion, and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Recently Kia also revealed the facelifted version of their premium MPV, the Kia Carnival which is expected to launch in India soon.
