Kia Carnival facelift has been spotted in black camouflage ahead of its global debut and despite being hidden, it is evident the car will get a whole new look. This facelifted Carnival will also come to India once launched.
The MPV’s fourth-gen was showcased at the Auto Expo back in January as the KA4, which is globally a 3-year-old model now.
Kia Carnival facelift: What are the new updates?
The Carnival will come with some heavy updates both on the outside and inside to line it up with the newer Kia models. Design-wise it’s more upright with L-shaped headlamps and taillamps. Also, the front and rear bumper and grille will have fresh designs.
Inside the car, the dashboard and the features will be updated and are also expected to take Carnival’s “luxury element” a notch higher with more premium cabin and comfort materials.
The car is also expected to come with multiple seating options.
Kia Carnival facelift: What the 3rd Gen Carnival used to offer?
The 3rd gen Kia Carnival was recently pulled off the Indian market silently by the brand to make way for the facelifted model, skipping the 4th Gen in India.
The car had an SUV stance despite being an MPV with impressive ride quality. Also, the interiors were premium and spacious.
The car was also loaded with features like twin 10.1-inch rear infotainment screens, climate control, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, an 8-speaker Harmon Kardon system and more. Expect the facelift to have some upgraded features for convenience.
The engine isn’t something to scoff at either. It’s a 197 hp producing, 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel motor paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic. Despite being so big in size with a 2240 kg weight the MPV could do the 0 to 100 kph sprint in just 10.80s which is exceptional.
There are no details on the powertrain on the Kia Carnival facelift as of yet, but expect the performance to be better or equal with some modifications.
Talking about safety, the MPV used to come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, roll-over mitigation and more.
Kia Carnival facelift: Global debut and India launch timeline
The Kia Carnival facelift will launch within a few months from now and will also come to India, though there’s no timeline given yet. In India just like stated earlier, the 3rd generation Carnival was being sold until June 2023, when Kia pulled the plug because of the end of its product lifecycle.
Interestingly the 4th Generation was already in the Global market by now which debuted 3 years ago. Fortunately, Kia will bring the upcoming facelifted Carnival to our shores.
With Kia Sonet’s facelifted model spotted during testing recently and the upcoming Carnival facelift here, it is safe to say Kia has been taking the Indian market quite seriously.
Expect the pricing to be more than the 3rd gen Kia Carnival that was selling in India with a price range of Rs 30.39 to 41.88 lakh, on-road, New Delhi.
In India, the Carnival doesn’t have any direct rivals but will face some competition from the likes of Toyota Innova Hycross and Toyota Vellfire.
