Skoda has finally revealed the Skoda Octavia Facelift which essentially marks the mid-life update of the 4th Gen Skoda Octavia. With India 2.0 being a success and India being Skoda Auto’s biggest market outside Europe, there seems to be a huge chance that the brand will decide to bring the facelifted Sedan to our market.
2024 Skoda Octavia Facelift – Highlights
The 4th Gen Octavia gets split headlights, similar to the 3rd Generation Octavia facelift along with inverted LED DRLs which makes the sedan more aggressive and menacing. The radiator grille has been changed a bit along with major revisions on the lower front bumpers, losing the fog lights and getting air curtains at the wheel wells.
Interestingly, the fog lights won’t be missed much since the headlamps now feature a powerful 2nd Gen LED Matrix with Crystallanium, although it is optional along with new 19-inch alloy wheels. The rear tail lamps also get updated with animated turn indicators along with a new rear bumper.
From the inside, the facelifted sedan now gets a 10-inch digital cluster and infotainment screen as standard across all the variants. The steering wheel also gets Skoda’s 2D logo in dark chrome detailing.
Buyers can also opt for a 13-inch infotainment screen in higher trims along with a few elements which are now made with sustainable materials such as the leather seats, which are tanned with ecologically friendly practices. The cabin feels quite premium and gets features such as an interesting-looking gear selector, electronic parking brake, rear window blinds, rear AC vents and more.
Safety-wise too, the Skoda Octavia facelift doesn’t lack and brings some features such as more reliable driver attention and drowsiness monitoring system, intelligent park assist, remote park assist, 5-star crash rating by ENCAP, 10 airbags, ADAS suite and more.
The 2024 Skoda Octavia facelift is offered in 4 trim levels – Essence, Selection, Sportline and RS. The facelifted Octavia further provides up to 8 4-cylinder engine choices with AWD and mild-hybrid transmissions.
There are 6 petrol units and two diesel configs to choose from. The 1.5L TSI petrol motor is offered in either 115 hp or 150 hp tunings and is also eligible for mild-hybrid tech. Meanwhile, the 2.0L TSI Petrol lacks the mild-hybrid but instead gets a choice between 204 bhp and 265 bhp options.
The case is similar to the 2.0L TDI diesel mill that Skoda offers in 2 tunes – 115 bhp and 150 bhp. The unit is paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic unit. However, there are no manual transmission options with the higher-spec performance RS trims.
