The New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been spotted during its test runs as a camouflaged test mule for the first time in India. The sedan will be based on the 2024 Swift and both will launch in India in the coming months, with the Swift launching earlier, followed by the Dzire.
The Dzire is expected to sport similar styling to the Swift, which has already made its global debut. Both the cars will also use the same platform and will also get similar engine options. The Dzire will also get a distinctive large grille with the Suzuki logo now outside the grille. The new Dzire also gets a touch of muscularity with the clamshell bonnet.
The front of the Sedan resembles the Swift while the lower bumper gets some cuts and creases which makes the rather simple-looking rear of the Dzire appear more sporty. Coming to the side profile, the car boasts new front and rear doors, pillars and windows. The overall elegance of the sedan is further enhanced by a chrome lining along the window. It also gets 5-spoke alloy wheels, which sets it apart from the Swift hatchback.
At the back, the new Dzire features some new elements while retaining the style of the current version such as a refreshed bumper. Inside, the Dzire will get more features and other elements similar to the fourth-gen Swift.
The dashboard remains unchanged, except for the central part which now houses new center AC vents, a toggle-style automatic climate control panel and a larger 9-inch infotainment screen from the larger Maruti Suzuki models.
Apart from this, the Maruti Dzire will get the same powertrain as the new Swift. Powering the sedan now is the new 1.2L 3-cylinder Z-series naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s capable of producing 82 bhp of power and 108 Nm of Torque, ensuring a balance between performance and mileage. Interestingly, despite the decrease in performance compared to the current K-series 4-cylinder motor, the new unit gets an impressive fuel efficiency of up to 24.5 kmpl.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the new-gen Swift in the coming weeks, with the Dzire following in the coming months. Both the cars, especially the Dzire continued to stay among the list of best-selling cars in India with the Swift being a popular sporty hatchback and the Dzire being one of the most preferred vehicles for cab drivers and people who want an affordable, practical and reliable mode of transportation.
