Recently, the All-new Hyundai Alcazar facelift was caught (not in 4k) in testing on Indian roads and it’s heavily updated, well at least cosmetically it is. This is however not the brand’s only SUV to be in the testing phase. The Creta Facelift is also being tested in India and Korea and will go on sale before the Alcazar facelift. And although people are more eager for the Creta, the Alcazar facelift is also worth looking out for.
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift – New design but with an issue
The test mule is heavily covered but the Alcazar will get a refreshed design and more features. While the Creta facelift will take inspiration from the Palisade, the Alcazar will look up to Exter. Now, personal opinions are subjective, so the new Alcazar taking design notes from Exter may or may not seem like a wise idea. Also, the fact that Exter is a budget SUV while the Alcazar is in the premium range makes Hyundai’s decision very confusing. The brand could at least take the design cues from its award-winning IONIQ series or even the Tucson. But as always, we have to wait and see if the design becomes a flop or a fan favourite.
The Alcazar facelift will get a new front with a redesigned grille, new headlights and DRLs setup and bumper, while the rear will also get an updated light setup and new bumper. The alloy wheel also has a new design, though there’s a chance the body panels and other small details are also changed here and there.
On the inside, the Alcazar will likely get a new touchscreen infotainment system, an updated steering wheel, and more.
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift – No Performance lift
There’s not much information released yet, but this is almost it for changes. The Alcazar facelift won’t get an engine upgrade or change. It will continue with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol and diesel options mated with manual and automatic gearboxes.
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift – Rivals and Launch Date
Currently, this 7-seater SUV is priced between Rs 19.39 – 25.20 lakh and is against the likes of Tata Safari, Kia Carens, Tata Harrier, and XUV700. The updated design might give it an edge given price is maintained. The facelifted version is expected to be launched by 2024 although no proper launch date has been given yet.
