Tata Nexon’s already expansive line-up has been recently expanded with the addition of 5 new AMT variants and now the Nexon Petrol-AMT range starts with the Smart+ trim from Rs 10 Lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the diesel-AMTs are priced from Rs 11.80 Lakh for the Pure trim.
Upon its launch, the most affordable or rather the entry-level Nexon petrol-AMT was priced at Rs 11.70 Lakh while the entry-level diesel-AMT was priced at Rs 13 Lakh.

The base Nexon Smart+ has quite a comprehensive list of modern equipment which we get with Higher variants such as a 7-inch touchscreen which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED Daytime Running Lamps, 4 speakers, drive modes, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, 6 airbags, ESC and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Meanwhile, the Pure trim gets extra features such as full LED headlights and taillights, roof rails, rear AC vents, wheel covers, touch-based HVAC controls, a knitted roof liner, a 4-inch digital driver’s display and voice commands. Last but definitely not least, the Pure S trim gets a sunroof, an electrochromic rearview mirror and auto headlamps and wipers as additional features.
Powering the Nexon AMTs are two engine options – one is a 120 hp/ 170 Nm. 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit and the other one is a 1.5-litre diesel that produces 115 hp/ 260 Nm. The petrol variant is available with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with paddle shifters while the diesel is paired with either a 6-speed manual and AMT gearboxes.
As for competition, the Tata Nexon AMT locks horns with other popular C-SUVs in the Indian Market like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet and Nissan Magnite.
