Toyota has launched a new version of the Fortuner, called the Fortuner Leader Edition. This version of the iconic rugged 7-seater SUV is based on the diesel 4X2 variants and comes with some exterior makeover and a few new features.
Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition – Minor Additions With the Same Heart
As of now, Toyota has not revealed any official pricing for the car stating that the Fortuner Leader Edition will be sold at the dealership according to the accessories fitted for the specific requirement. Nonetheless, expect the prices for the Leader Edition to be a bit higher than the standard Fortuner 4X2, which starts at Rs 35.93 Lakh to Rs 38.21 Lakh.
For the higher price, you will get some new features such as a tyre-pressure monitor, auto-folding ORVMs, a wireless charger and dual-tone seat covers. From the outside, the Fortuner Leader Edition sports new Black Alloy Wheels and there are 3 dual-tone colour schemes to choose from – Super White, Silver Metallic and Platinum Pearl. All of the colours come with contrasting black bits. The Leader Edition also get these new front and rear bumper spoilers which enhances the look of the SUV and Toyota even confirms that it’s part of the official list of accessories and is installed by the dealer.
As for the Powertrain, the Fortuner Leader Edition is only available in the 4X2 variant with the 2.8-litre diesel engine that generates 204 hp and 500 Nm when paired with a 6-speed Auto and 420 Nm when mated to the manual gearbox.
The Fortuner will continue to rival the likes of the MG Gloster and soon will face off against a competitor, the Ford Endeavour, which will likely make a comeback with the Everest nameplate.
