The 2024 Isuzu D-max facelift recently made its debut in Thailand and it is safe to say the Pickup gets some new upgrades from inside and out, which makes the car meaner and more premium than before.
This is the 3rd Generation of the Isuzu D-max that got a facelift, which was much needed considering the current generation is almost 4 years old already. In India, the 2nd gen D-max is currently selling so hope to see this facelifted model come to our shore soon.
2024 Isuzu D-Max – Now with some anger issues
The Front gets the most noticeable changes. The central air intake is larger than before and the also the redesigned bumpers give the pickup a very rugged and aggressive look like it would eat you up. The headlights are also new and now come with bi-LED beams. All these changes made the grille slimmer, but it still has the company’s signature two-bar design, which now blends better than before with the overall design language.
The car also gets newly designed alloy wheels which are taken from the top-spec V-cross and the rear end sports a vertically stacked LED tail lamp on both sides which Isuzu calls the ‘Triple Armour’ look with a subtle spoiler on top of the tailgate.
2024 Isuzu D-Max – Inside the Pickup
Inside, the D-max facelift gets a new 9.0-inch infotainment system which now has a bigger display and more functionality. The instrument cluster has also been refreshed, and even though it’s still not fully digital, there are changes like the repositioning of the Instrumentation and the new look of the driver’s display.
The touch-sensitive switches replace some of the physical buttons, and other features like Type-C USB port, 8-speaker audio, remote engine start, rear AC vents, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control and more.
On the upper trims, you will get some extra features and materials such as the new 7-inch digital instrument console and a two-tone black and brown leatherette seat option.
2024 Isuzu D-Max – Under the hood, Pricing and India launch
In terms of engine upgrades, the D-max facelift hasn’t got any. The pickup still comes with the 1.9-litre and 3.0-litre diesel engines without any changes. The 1.9-litre (called the RZ4E) churns out 148 hp and 350 Nm of torque while the 3.0-litre still produces the 189 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
Fun fact, the Thai-spec AWD D-Max comes with a rear locking differential. The car will go on sale in Thailand in the coming week with a price range of 5,45,000 Baht (Rs 12.26 lakh) to 12,57,900 Baht (Rs 28.30 lakh).
The 2024 Isuzu D-max facelift will come with Advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) as standard across most variants. If this pickup does come to India as expected, and we hope it does since we are still continuing with the second-gen D-max, this will be the 1st pickup truck In India to get the ADAS feature.
With the changes, the 2024 D-max does look angrier than before (I would have been too if I got a late update, while my competitors were all getting ahead with new generations and facelifts) and it suits the car well since it now has a more rugged and stylish look and feel to it.
