Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 launched in India

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been launched in the Indian market after it was revealed last year with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 3.59 Lakh. Bookings are now open at the official website and authorized dealerships across the nation while the deliveries and test rides will begin in March 2024.

The Shotgun 650 is built on the Royal Enfield’s 650-Twin Platform and is positioned between the Super Meteor 650 and Continental GT 650. The bike features a modern-retro design since it draws inspiration from the SG650 concept which was showcased at the EICMA 2021. The bike is available in 4 colour options – Sheetmetal Grey, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Stencil White.

Coming to features, the Shotgun includes an LED headlight, a semi-digital instrument cluster with navigation, a USB charging port, mid-set footpegs, a single-seat setup and a flat handlebar. The bike also features the company’s new in-app feature of the Royal Enfield Wingman, which allows riders to check the bike’s live location, fuel and engine oil levels, and more.

When it comes to suspensions, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is equipped with 43mm Showa USD forks at the front and a 5-step adjustable rear shock absorber at the rear. The braking is handled by a 320mm disc at the front and a 300 mm disc at the rear. The Shotgun has a wheelbase of 1,465 mm and rides on 18/17-inch tubeless tires.

What justifies the Shotgun 650’s name is its 648cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine that also powers the Super Meteor 650. This unit produces a peak of 46 hp at 7,250 RPM and a peak torque of 52.3 Nm at 5,650 RPM paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
