Ola has launched the S1X 4kWh E-scooter which features a powerful 6 kW motor and a long range of 190km on a single charge. The scooter is priced at Rs 1,09,999 and deliveries will commence from April 2024 onwards with Ola Electric announcing an extended warranty of 8 years or up to 80,000 across its portfolio at no additional cost, which is an industry-first. The reason is to eliminate the concerns and issues related to the battery life.
The new S1X 4 kWh comes with a long range of 190 km and has a rated top speed of 90 kmph. The E-scooter is also claimed to go from 0 to 40 in just 3.3 seconds, which is good for an EV. The 2024 S1X 4 kWh is available in 6 colours – Red Velocity, Vogue, Midnight, Porcelain White, Funk, Steller and Liquid Silver.
Besides this, the fast charging network will be ramped up rapidly to 10,000 points by the next quarter and a portable fast charger is available to purchase as an accessory worth Rs 29,999. With the addition of the new S1X 4kWh variant, the brand has now 6 electric scooter offerings in India with the most expensive being the S1 Pro which costs around Rs 1,47,499 lakh (ex-showroom) and is also the most popular.
Speaking of charging, Ola Electric has also stated that it will expand its service and charging network across India to tackle the challenges which arise when it comes to charging in the middle of commute since most public EV Charging Stations are non-functional. Also, the new first-in-industry extended warranty, according to the brand helps in expanding the life of its e-scooters 2 times over ICE scooters.
Along with the new no-additional-cost warranty, customers can also get the add-on warranty which will increase the upper limit of the km travelled up to 1.25 lakh and above the extended warranty for a starting price of Rs 4,999. The service network will also be widened by 50% over the existing 414 centres to around 600 centres within the next 3 months.
