With fans and enthusiasts hoping for the Honda NX500 to launch in India after its reveal in EICMA 2023, Pre-bookings are now open for Rs 10,000 and will be followed by the bike’s launch very soon since deliveries are expected to commence from February or March 2024. The bike will join the Africa Twin and XL750 Transalp in Honda’s ADV line-up.
Honda NX500 – Highlights
The NX500 will fill the gap left behind by the silent discontinuation of the CB500X. But unlike the CB this bike seems a more practical and purposeful ADV tourer which is evident from the Dakar-styled fairing, a seat height of 830mm and a tall windscreen. This bike will be a mid-capacity offering and will sit below the Transalp in terms of pricing.
The bike will also come packed with features including a 5-inch TFT fully digital Instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and navigation, and some additional kits. Talking about the specs, the bike uses a diamond frame and is equipped with a USD fork and a monoshock. The bike uses 19 and 17 front and rear alloy wheels with block-pattern tyres. The braking is handled by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. The weight of the bike is 196 kg.
Powering the Honda NX500 is a 471cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 47hp and 43Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Once launched, the bike will compete with the likes of Moto Morini X-Cape and Kawasaki Versys 650 and the expected price will be around the same CB500X or even higher, in the Rs 6.5-7 lakh range.
