Iconic Indian 2-wheeler brand Kinetic is gearing up to launch a new electric scooter in the market and has submitted a patent for the same. The brand, which was once a household name, has faced a downfall and is now making a major comeback. A new electric scooter has been patented by the brand’s electric division, Kinetic Watts and Volts.

New Kinetic Electric Scooter Patent – What do we know?
For reference, the Kinetic group controls Kinetic Engineering Ltd, which further controls Kinetic Green and Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. The former already sells electric 2-wheelers in India such as the E Luna, E-Zulu and Zing. The latter is responsible for developing integrated solutions for electric controllers and batteries, and has just patented a new scooter as well.
This upcoming electric scooter might compete with current big names in the family-oriented electric 2W segment, such as the Ather Rizta, Hero Vida, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 lineup.

As per the patented design, it’s not wrong to assume that Kinetic is trying to tap into the nostalgia factor that Bajaj Chetak currently has with its iconic design with an electric twist.
Speaking of which, the design seems to be inspired by the Kinetic Honda ZX, which was a successful scooter in India, as it features a similar silhouette with a few tweaks to make it modern. The front fender, in particular, is sleek with a neat Kinetic logo on the apron.
The headlight is rectangular in shape with integrated indicators shaped similarly to the Kinetic logo. Above it is a flyscreen similar to the one on Kinetic Honda with “Kinetic” lettering. ORVMs are kind of square-ish, and the floorboard appears to be quite spacious, expected of a family-oriented scooter.

The side panels also appear to have minimal design, similar to the Kinetic Honda, while the grab rail is a chunky single-piece unit, although there’s no rear spare wheel here, unlike the OG Kinetic Honda ZX. Alloys seems to be a three-spoke design with a seemingly front disc brake as well, although it’s not clear yet.
With this upcoming electric scooter that looks so similar to an iconic scooter, Kinetic will likely tap into the nostalgia of what used to be a household name, similar to what Bajaj did with the Chetak. Stay tuned for more information.
