Prior to its official debut on April 24 at the Beijing Motor Show, images of the Mini Aceman EV have leaked. These leaked images show a model that is very much identical to the larger Countryman model and this Aceman EV crossover will be placed between the smaller 3-door Cooper/Mini and Countryman.
Mini Aceman EV Images leaked – Not so Mini
Despite the brand name, the Aceman is not so “Mini” in size as the Cooper since the Aceman is 192 mm longer, 23 mm wider and 130 mm taller. For starters, the design is largely similar to the Aceman concept showcased back in 2022. The leaked pictures further confirm the availability of the top-spec John Cooper Works (JCW) variant which features low-profile tyres, larger alloys and racing-inspired decals.
From the inside, the Aceman will sport Mini’s new round touchscreen which is claimed to be the first circular OLED touchscreen in a production car (Kudos to Mini). However, the car will retain the traditional toggle switches and steering wheel buttons for media functions, cruise control and drive modes.
The Mini Aceman will use a stretched version of Mini’s Spotlight Architecture, similar to the Cooper SE Hatchback. Hence, the car will feature two battery packs – 54 kWh and 40 kWh, both of which will be used to power a single motor mounted on the front axle, producing either 218 hp or 183 hp. Although the range of the upcoming EV has not been disclosed yet, it’s assumed to have up to 400 km range.
There’s no official information provided either for the launch of the Aceman in India yet, but the Cooper SE is currently on sale here for Rs 53.50 Lakh, ex-showroom. The brand is also preparing a major brand overhaul for its entire lineup which includes the Mini 3-door hatchback.
