Suzuki recently launched the Ertiga Cruise Hybrid in the 2024 Ongoing Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ertiga is one of the best-selling MPVs in India and this new 2024 version of the Ertiga brings a lot of upgrades in both styling and Powertrain.
Suzuki Ertiga Cruise – Highlights
PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor has launched the Eartiga Cruise for a starting price of IDR 288 Million for the manual variant which is Rs 15.3 Lakh (ex-showroom) in Indian currency. For the AT variant of the Ertiga Cruise, the asking price is IDR 301 million, which is approx Rs 16 Lakh (ex-showroom) when converted.
As for design, the Ertiga Cruise is more of a sporty version of the regular Ertiga and hopefully, the India-spec model will get this update. This update includes LED DRLs, a sporty front bumper with an under spoiler, a side under spoiler and a sporty rear bumper with an under spoiler and a rear spoiler.
As for colours, the Ertiga Cruise Hybrid gets only two colour options – Pearl White + Cool Black dual tone and Cool Black as compared to a whole array of paint schemes from the Regular Ertiga Hybrid GX which includes Brave Khaki, Silky Silver, Burgundy Red, Mellow Deep Red, Pearl Snow White, Cool Black and Metallic Magma Grey.
Powering the Ertiga Cruise Hybrid is a K15B Smart Hybrid Powertrain with a bigger 10ah battery, so it’s safe to expect slightly better fuel efficiency. The MPV is equipped with a 1.5-litre Petrol unit that generates 104 PS of power and 138 Nm of Torque.
Currently, the India-spec Maruti Suzuki Ertiga puts out a little over 20 kmpl mileage. So, it remains to be seen whether the brand will introduce this larger battery in our market. In India, only the Ciaz is equipped with this K15B smart hybrid powertrain, however, with sedans suffering from low sales nowadays, the Ciaz has a very low chance of getting a bigger battery.
Now before getting all excited, do take note that the key differentiators between the Ertiga and XL6 are the seat layout and the sporty yet premium design of the XL6. So, it is less likely that the sporty design updates on the Indonesia-spec Ertiga will make it to India, as it will kind of make the XL6 obsolete here.
