Honda Motorcycle & Scooters India (HMSI) has finally launched the much-anticipated Rebel 500 cruiser in India at Rs 5.12 Lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram). Bookings are now open at select BigWing Topline dealerships in Gurugram, Bengaluru and Mumbai.
New Honda Rebel 500: Modern-Retro Cruiser
The Rebel 500 is already a favourite choice among cruiser lovers globally, and it finally debuts in India as part of Honda’s premium motorcycle lineup, which is sold via BigWing. Featuring an iconic retro cruiser profile with a steep fuel tank, round LED headlamp, and a low seat height of 690 mm, the bike is both handsome and easy to ride. It is available in a single standard variant and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic colour.
The Rebel features an inverted LCD instrument cluster that shows rider information. It is built on a tubular steel frame and comes equipped with telescopic front forks and twin rear Showa shock absorbers. Braking is taken care of by a 296 mm front and 240 mm rear disc setup supported by dual-channel ABS. The cruiser rides on 16-inch wheels wrapped in Dunlop tyres.
Powering the Honda Rebel 500 is a 471 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine that develops 34 kW at 8,500 RPM and 43.3 Nm torque at 6,000 RPM. the motor is mated to a 6-speed transmission which is tweaked for low-end torque and a smooth delivery across the rev range. This kind of tuning is good for cruisers since they are built for comfortable long rides. The deep exhaust note is cherry on top that adds to the overall appeal.
The Rebel 500, just like all Honda’s premium bikes, will be sold via BigWing Topline dealerships exclusively, and HMSI is positioning the bike for enthusiasts who are seeking a blend of neo-retro cruiser styling with a premium build quality and Honda’s proven engineering.
Honda Rebel 500 is priced from Rs 5.12 Lakh (ex-showroom) and bookings are now open from either BigWing Topine dealers or the online website. Deliveries are set to commence from June 2025.
