2026 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Spied

The new 2026 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has been spotted during test runs outside India, which could bring new features and components. The Super Meteor was the brand’s first attempt at a high-powered cruiser after the Thunderbird 500, which has seen great success as it packs new-age features with a retro charm.

With the launch of the 650 platform, Royal Enfield has gained a strong foothold in the 500+ cc motorcycle segment with almost 90% market share. The sales figures are mostly due to the 650 siblings (Continental 650 and Interceptor 650), while the sales numbers of the Super Meteor aren’t bad either.

In order to give the bike an update and boost sales, the brand seems to be working on launching a refreshed model, which is expected to debut in 2026 with a comprehensive list of new features and components.

As seen in the new spy shots, the 2026 Super Meteor 650 will likely retain these same design aesthetics, which is evident by the same fuel tank, side body panel, seat and wheels. This might be the reason why Royal Enfield has not bothered to wrap the test mule to hide it.

The testing equipment can be seen strapped to its subframe, replacing the pillion seat, which could also suggest the brand gathering information for retuning the 650 cc engine. For reference, the current 650 cc engine generates 46.3 bhp of peak power at 7,250 RPM and 52.3 Nm of Peak Torque at 5,650 RPM.

Part of the expected update could be the addition of the Tripper console, which gets Navigation support and music control. This would enhance user experience and the overall appeal of the cruiser.

The new test mule of the 2026 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 might as well be considered as the test mule of a Super Meteor 750, which is highly unlikely, as this mule has production-spec body panels with Super Meteor 650 clearly written.

Furthermore, the brand’s upcoming 750 cc lineup is expected to come with a dual disc brake setup as seen with the Continental GT 750, Interceptor 750 and Himalayan 750 test mules, which is not present on this Super Meteor 650 test unit.

Stay tuned for further information on the new features, launch date and pricing of the new Super Meteor.
