With the Festive season going on, there’s been an increased demand for cars which led to increased production, new car launches and car dealerships putting out offers on certain models. In fact, the top 5 brands – Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra and Kia recorded their highest-ever monthly sales of 3,91,472 in a month, which is a 16% Y-O-Y growth over the 3,33,679 units sold in October 2022.

Top sellers In october

So, here is a list of the top-selling cars of October 2023 arranged in the highest to lowest order.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

The Wagon R tops the list as the best seller with 22,080 units sold in October. The Kei car of India has always been a popular choice among buyers who are looking for a reliable, affordable and practical urban hatchback. The engine isn’t anything exciting in particular, but the Hatchback boasts great fuel economy and spacious interiors, which is good enough for daily commute.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

With 20,598 units sold, the Swift stands in second place despite its new version coming soon in India. This hatchback has also made a name for itself since its launch due to its great design and all the other plus points it gets for being a Maruti Suzuki car such as affordability, reliability, low maintenance and fuel efficiency. What also makes this car special is its peppy engine paired with good driving experience which isn’t much but makes driving the car quite fun.

Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon is the third runner-up with 16,887 units sold in October, which is quite impressive since it’s an SUV. The Nexon also got a facelift recently and is an overall good car with decent features and enough safety but where it lacks is its engine, which feels a bit lackluster.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The Baleno gets quite close to the Nexon with 16,594 sold units last month but nonetheless is a very capable and practical hatchback. This car has the best-in-class comfort and is feature-packed with spacious interiors and a peppy engine. Oh, and we cannot forget the elegant exterior design.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The Brezza managed to score a seat just below the Baleno with 16,050 units which makes it one of the top sellers in October and it’s understandable. Being a part of Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships, the Brezza boasts a great road presence with its great design and has all the other Maruti Suzuki elements such as high mileage, reliability, features and more. Although the engine feels a bit underpowered, the Brezza is still a value-for-money option for urban commuters.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch ICE

The Punch comes 6th on the list with 15,317 units sold last month. This entry-level SUV looks quite nice and is decently feature-packed for its price with Tata’s build quality and safety which makes it a popular choice among buyers who want an SUV but on a budget.

Suzuki Dzire

The Dzire with its 14,699 units in October, is the only sedan on this list. The car has always been a popular choice among cab drivers due to its classy looks, affordability, low maintenance, comfortable interiors and reliability. Though the demand has decreased a little bit since people still using their old Swift Dzire and other cars for business, the numbers confirm that the Dzire is desired by many.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

Coming to our big boy Ertiga, who got the 8th place in this list for 14,209 units sold in October and is the only MPV on this list. The Ertiga though looks a bit boring now, has been the ideal choice for buyers who like to travel in groups.

Mahindra Scorpio

The Scorpio (Both the Classic and N) gets the 9th position with 13,578 units sold in October. The Scorpio has always been people’s favourite and a part of our lives overall, courtesy of the films where the Scorpio has always been the choice of the villains and has sometimes been even regarded as a true rugged SUV.

Hyundai Creta

Hyundai Creta 2023

Talking about fan favourites, we cannot skip the Creta, can we? With 13,077 units sold in October, the Creta surprisingly sits at the bottom of the list despite being one of the most hyped cars recently. Part of the reason for the low numbers might be its facelifted version, that’s going to launch very soon.
