Tata Motors recently shared a glimpse of the Tata Safari and Harrier facelift interior following the teaser of the exterior of the two SUVs. Bookings will start from October 6 and that’s all we know for now. According to the new teaser, both the SUVs will get some new styling and features in the interior, although most are still hidden in the dark.

Tata Safari and Harrier facelift interior – Glimpse of a few, but new changes

As I stated earlier, Tata teased us with a glimpse of the Tata Safari and Harrier facelift interior which reveals few but key changes. There’s an all-new digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment system that is noticeably larger than the previous one, a steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo, and an ambient lighting strip under the dashboard.

Apart from that, the digital instrument cluster can be customized and the higher variants of the new Harrier and Safari will likely get the 12.3-inch screen while the lower ones will feature the 10.25-inch unit. And if you haven’t noticed it by now, most of the elements shown in the teaser of these SUVs borrow it from the Nexon line-up. However, the steering wheel of the Harrier and Safari will have 4 strokes instead of two on the Nexon.

The centre console area is also redesigned with a new gear lever and a new rotary driver selector. The ambient lighting strip further defines the shape of the dashboard which appears to be unchanged, however, a new gloss panel will replace the faux wood on the current models. The central AC vents will also be redesigned while the leatherette padding will come with contrast double stitching.

Apart from the Interior, both the SUVs will continue with the 2.0-litre diesel engine that’s paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The engine churns out 170 hp of power and petrol and EV powertrains are also under development and will come sometime in the future. The engine is updated for BS6 Stage 2 emission norms.

Tata Safari and Harrier facelift interior – Previous teaser details

In the previous teaser, Tata gave us a preview of the Safari and Harrier, although it can be said Harrier will get some major updates since the teaser mostly showed the Safari and kept the Harrier in the shadows like Batman. Anyways, the Safari and Harrier facelift will get a connected LED strip on the front while the former also gets updated taillights and a connected LED strip at the rear too. The Harrier will likely get the same. The Safari also gets a dual-tone bumper with silver inserts.

As I stated before, Tata is trying to build up the hype for the upcoming updated Harrier, since both the Harrier and Safari currently have the same front-end design. Judging from the teaser the Harrier will likely get a refreshed grille design and main headlamp cluster while sharing the same LED strip look with its Safari sibling.
