Ultraviolette Automotive recently unveiled the F99 Factory Racing Program at the EICMA 2023 and it’s really a statement that “India’s capable of producing high-quality electric motorbikes”. The company really outdid themselves with the latest iteration after the debut of the previous one at the 2023 Auto Expo.
Ultraviolette F99 – India’s fastest Electric Motorcycle
Yes, you read that right. The bike doesn’t only look like a superbike, it performs like one. The race-spec F99 gets a liquid-cooled powertrain with a power output of 120 hp (90 kW) and is claimed to touch 265 kph. Apart from that, it can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 3 seconds, which really makes it the fastest electric superbike in India.
The bike’s design is pretty cool too with an aerodynamic bodyshell that actually does its job. There are winglets and ducts almost everywhere in the front, side and rear. The windshield and the front cowl ducts are part of the active aero elements while the winglets on the side panels are called “Air blades”, which are electronically actuated in real time to learn and adapt to lean angles during cornering to enhance the downforce.
Talking about the specs, the bike is built on a steel hybrid frame with an aluminium swingarm and carbon fibre bodywork. The wheelbase is 1400 mm with 120/70 R17 front tyre and 180/55 R17 rear tyre. The bike also features a gold USD fork and monoshock suspension setup with carbon fibre covers for the wheels.
The previous iteration of the F99 was said to have CNC machined units at the rear which are adjustable according to the rider’s preference, so it is expected to be continued on the latest version of the F99. Oh, the weight of the bike is just 178 kg.
Now, there’s good news is that the Ultraviolette F99 Factory Racing Program won’t be limited to just racing. The company states there will be a production-spec that will be available globally by 2025. But expect it to be a bit costly. Nonetheless, fans and enthusiasts can rejoice.
Keeping aside the F99, Ultraviolette also announced the launch of the F77 soon in Europe and will start accepting registrations for the European market from Nov 15, 2023.
