2025 Jawa 42 FJ Spied, to launch soon

In the growing sub-middleweight motorbike segment, brands are bringing in new features to attract new buyers, just like the Jawa 42 FJ, which uses a dual exhaust setup, but based on the recent spy shots, it appears that Jawa might be going back to the standard single exhaust setup.

As evident from the spy shots, the 2025 Jawa 42 FJ does not include an exhaust on the left side, while even the single exhaust on the right side is not visible, which indicates the possibility that the new Jawa 42 FJ could boast an underbelly exhaust. For now, it’s difficult to spot the ride-side exhaust.

Getting rid of the dual-exhaust setup won’t affect the bike since single-cylinder motorcycles don’t require dual exhausts; they are just there to enhance the retro aesthetics.

Speaking of which, since the Jawa 42 FJ, which is a more powerful and roadster-themed version of the standard Jawa 42, follows a retro-styling, a single exhaust setup will suit the bike just fine and is more likely to be the go-to choice for the 2025 variant. The retro styling is retained, which is evident by the classic teardrop fuel tank, circular headlamp and a broad rear fender. So, while using an underbelly exhaust might give the motorcycle a cleaner and unique look among its peers, it might not appeal to the enthusiasts anymore who prefer the old-school design and feel.

In the case of the 2025 Jawa 42 FJ, there are multiple benefits if a single exhaust setup is implemented. The bike will become lightweight, which will enhance its overall control, handling and agility, allowing riders to navigate through the packed urban jungle more effectively.

The less weight will also increase the power-to-weight ratio of the bike, meaning performance will likely go up. The bike for reference is powered by a 334 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that churns out 29.17 PS of power and 29.62 Nm of Torque. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Also, dual exhaust is mostly a gimmick for a single-cylinder bike, so switching to a single exhaust can reduce production costs. However, apart from this, the bike is unlikely to receive any major tweaks to its powertrain or other components. As for the price, the existing Jawa 42 FJ dual-channel ABS variant retails at a starting price of Rs 2.15 Lakh with a total of 6 colours to choose from.

Apart from this, no other changes have been spotted in the upcoming 2025 Jawa 42 FJ. The bike continues to use the double cradle frame and comes with 18-inch and 17-inch front and rear wheels, wrapped in 100/90 and 140/70 tyres, respectively.
