Triumph Street Triple RS and R deliveries finally started in India, 3 months after launching the motorcycles in the country. These two variants were launched back in June, but due to some issues, Triumph could not deliver the bikes to customers. The Triple R has a price tag of Rs 10.17 lakh, while the RS is priced at 11.81 lakh. Sadly, the Street Triple Moto2 variant won’t be launched here, which has enhanced performance and new looks.
Anyways, the 2023 Street Triple series are the first big bikes to be brought to India since Triumph’s operations in India were taken over by Bajaj.
Triumph Street Triple RS and R: What’s new?
The new Street Triple lineup takes inspiration from its big bro Street Triple 1200 RS and gets a more dynamic appearance now. It features a new twin-pod LED headlamp with DRLs and the design has also been revised to make the bike a bit more aggressive and now also accommodates a larger 15-litre fuel tank. The Street Triple R has two colour options – silver Ice and crystal white, while the Street Triple RS has 3 options – Silver Ice, Carnival Red, and Cosmic Yellow.
The Updated Triumph Street Triple RS also has some advanced features like a TFT display, cornering ABS, traction control, a linked braking system, and 5 riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, Rider, and Track.
Meanwhile, the Street Triple R offers 4 riding modes, excluding the personalized Rider mode. This bike is equipped with an LCD display.
Triumph Street Triple RS and R: Performance and Rivals
Both the bikes are powered by a liquid-cooled 765CC in-line 3-cylinder engine mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine of Triple R produces 118.4hp and 80Nm torque, while the RS produces a more powerful 128.2hp.
The 2023 Triumph Street Triple R and RS will compete with the likes Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Streetfighter V2 and Monster, and BMW F900R.
