Tata Altroz Racer Edition displayed at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024

Tata Altroz Racer Edition was recently showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. The hatchback was also presented at last year’s Auto Expo, but it got some minor updates this time. The Altroz Racer is basically the performance-oriented version of the Altroz and brings a few extras to the table compared to the standard premium hatchback.

Tata Altroz Racer – Design

The Altroz Racer Edition looks quite similar to the standard Altroz from almost all the angles. What sets this special edition apart from the standard Altroz is the black hood with white stripes along with the dual-tone exterior paint scheme, which here is showcased as a combo of Orange/black.

Coming to the rear, the hatch gets split LED tail lamps on both sides connected by a black bar, and a larger spoiler than the Standard Altroz to get that extra DNA out. You also now get to see new-blacked out multi-spoke alloys which are different from the one showcased back in Auto Expo 2023.

Interior & Features

Speaking of black, the Interior of the Altroz Racer is also all-black with touches of red along the dashboard and centre console and white and red stripes on the seats, making it overall quite sporty. There’s also the Racer badge imprinted on the headrests of the hatch.

Powertrain

Sounds Familiar?

If you have not guessed by now, this sporty Altroz is Tata’s answer to Hyundai i20’s N Line Version, which is obvious when you look at what the Racer is offering in terms of features, design, Interior and other elements. Considering that the N Line has been enjoying the hot hatch segment alone for quite some time now, the Altroz Racer makes a lot more sense and is a welcoming addition to the Indian automobile market.

As for prices, expect the Altroz Racer to carry a higher price tag than the standard Altroz. Currently, the sporty trim of the standard Altroz, which is the i-turbo, is priced between Rs 8.35 – Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom), so expected the Racer to carry a premium over the i-Turbo trim.
