New-Gen Ford Endeavour Design has recently been Patented in India by the carmaker after cancelling the deal of selling the Chennai Plant to JSW Group a few weeks back. Ford also announced a list of job openings over the last few weeks, so does that mean Ford is coming back to India?
Although it has not been officially confirmed by the brand yet, the abovementioned activities of Ford, strongly indicate its comeback in the Indian market. If the Endeavour does make a comeback, it will compete with the likes of MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner. Please note that Ford is offering the Endeavour as Everest in the global market.
In terms of design, the new Endeavour looks more buffed than the previous gen. It gets a rugged bumper, a big grille and C-shaped DRLs with LED headlights. The tailgate at the rear of the SUV has also been refreshed and is flatter now. The LED tail lamps have also been redesigned. On the Side, the SUV will now get 21-inch alloy wheels and with a 50 mm larger wheelbase.
The Interior will also get a redesigned cabin with a new vertical infotainment system and a driver display. The SUV also comes packed with features including Wireless Charging, a 360-degree camera, USB ports, 7 airbags, Traction Control, Hill Hold Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ADAS and more.
Coming to the engine, currently, the Endeavour AKA the Everest is being offered with a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine that produces 208 hp and 405 Nm of Torque and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit that churns out 168 hp and 500 Nm of Torque. While the bi-turbo is paired with a 10-speed Automatic Transmission, the turbo diesel mill uses a 6-speed automatic transmission. Ford is also offering both 4×2 as well as 4×4 drivetrains.
