Hybrid Cars are preferred because of their technology and better mileage compared to other variants, Here is the list of upcoming Maruti Suzuki Hybrid cars. Maruti Suzuki, the brand that seemingly showed no interest in electric vehicles is now planning to change its product strategy and focus more on electric and hybrid cars. These are some of the upcoming hybrid cars that the homegrown brand decided to launch.
New-gen Maruti Swift Hybrid
The popular and iconic Maruti Swift will reportedly go for a transformation. Built on the same HEARTECT platform as the Baleno and Fronx, the upcoming Swift is expected to bring significant design changes, improved built quality, and some new features. Under its hood, the car will sport a new 1.2L petrol engine mated with Toyota’s hybrid technology, that promises good fuel efficiency of around 35-40 kmpl. The hybrid Swift is expected to be introduced in the first half of next year. The expected price will likely be a premium of Rs 1.5 lakh more than the non-hybrid variant.
Next-generation Dzire Hybrid
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire doesn’t need any introduction since the car is the choice for daily drivers due to its simplicity and great mileage. The brand plans to give the Dzire a makeover and will utilize the same HEARTECT platform as the upcoming Swift. This new-gen Dzire will have updated looks, improved interiors, new features and equipment, and also enhanced safety and dynamics. Similar to the Swift, the upcoming Dzire will also be powered by the new 1.2L strong-hybrid petrol engine, meaning the mileage in Dzire will be the same as the Swift.
7-seater Grand Vitara Hybrid
With the brand’s plans to expand its SUV portfolio, it will be launching a new Maruti 7-seater SUV, based on the Grand Vitara. Its wheelbase will obviously be longer than the current Grand Vitara because it will accommodate extra seats. Design-wise, it will receive some minor changes to differentiate it from the current Grand Vitara. The upcoming SUV will likely sport a hybrid system under the hood same as its smaller sibling. A 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine is likely to come, mated with an electric motor and the expected mileage will be somewhere around 27.97 Kmpl. The expected price range is likely 10.45 lakh – 19.49 lakh and once launched it will take on the likes of Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.
