Tata Motors has finally unveiled the exterior of its upcoming Curvv Coupe SUV’s production version. The company showcased the Curvv back in April 2022 for the 1st time as an electric concept and later in its ICE avatar in January 2023.
Production-spec Tata Curvv – Not that different from its Concept
The final form of the Curvv has only a few minor changes from the concept like the the DRLs don’t extend into the bonnet, the split rear spoiler is now a single and smaller unit and the EV’s exterior cameras create space for regular outside rear-view mirrors.
From the front, the Curvv looks very identical to the Nexon. The Curvv EV also has a nose-mounted charging flap similar to the Tata Punch EV and the lower bumper area has several vertical patterns. Meanwhile, the ICE version has smaller horizontal patterns on the lower bumper and grill area. Both versions sport triangular housings for the headlights while the DRL unit stretches across the car’s width.
When it comes to side-profile, the Curvv looks pretty different from the Nexon. It is longer and the roofline slopes down sharply since it is a coupe. The wheel arches on the EV look squarish while the ICE version has flower petal-like 5-spoke alloys. Both cars also get pop-out flush door handles and prominent black cladding below.
Coming to the rear, both versions have an integrated rooftop spoiler which is a single-piece unit but it dips in the centre, cleverly mimicking the split spoiler from the concept. The taillights stretch across the rear above the brand’s logo. The lower bumper in the EV is finished in a silver trim, while in the ICE version, the exhaust is hidden below.
While Tata Motors has yet to show the Curvv’s cabin, the brand did allow a small peek at what the final production version’s interior would look like through an interactive VR headset at its UK design studio. Almost everything has been carried over from the Nexon like the 2-spoke steering with illuminated logo, the floating touchscreen and the touch-panel controls. But the Curvv will get different colour options.
Tata Motors will launch the Curvv EV first, followed by the petrol and diesel variants. With this coupe SUV, Tata states it’s aiming to become a major player in the midsize SUV segment just like it did with the Nexon and Punch.
