Suzuki Swift 2024 has been teased ahead of its debut at Tokyo Motor Show. The car is officially called “Swift Concept” by the brand, and according to the images released by Suzuki, it looks production-ready.
The New-generation Swift has been updated from both Inside and out and is expected to launch in 2024.
Suzuki Swift 2024 – Sportier
The next-gen Swift now gets a sportier design language with aggressive character lines and an updated bonnet with the lines blending into it. The grille design has also been changed with refreshed front and rear-end bumper designs. The alloy wheel designs have also been updated.
Apart from that, the new Swift has been seen as a blue and black dual-tone exterior with the above-mentioned design changes.
Suzuki Swift 2024 – Interior and features
Inside, the new-gen Swift shares its dashboard design with the Brezza and Fronx and gets a black and grey paint job. The car also gets new features like the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the steering wheel and toggle switches for the HVAC controls, similar to its SUV siblings.
The Swift is also equipped with enhanced safety technology like Dual Sensor Brake Support, collision-mitigating braking, a Driver Monitoring System, Dual Sensor Brake support and an Adaptive High Beam System.
Suzuki Swift 2024 – Powertrain
Okay, so Suzuki hasn’t released any information on the engine or the transmission options but only a statement that the car will feature a high-efficiency engine that maintains a balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
The current Suzuki Swift for the Indian market features a 90 hp producing, 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine that also provides 113 Nm torque and is paired with either a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. The car is available in both CNG and petrol options.
Suzuki Swift 2024 – India Launch Timeline and Rivals
The car will officially debut in the Tokyo Motor Show which will take place later this year, so expect the next-gen Swift to hit the Indian market by early or mid-2024. The Swift will rival the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nois and Tata Tiago.
The Swift has always been a popular choice among Indians due to its reliability, high mileage and sporty looks and though the Swift Sport is also another car that’s been desired here, the new-gen Swift seems to have the potential to fill the gap temporarily.
However, if launched with a higher-powered engine, the Swift can go up against the recently launched Hyundai i20 facelift, but only time will tell.
