Citroen India recently announced a price hike on their lineup from 1st January 2024. There will be a 2.5-3 per cent increase in ex-showroom prices depending on the model. In India’s portfolio, the car currently has only 4 models – Citroen C3, C3 Aricross, C5 Aircross and the eC3.
Citroen India also announces discounts for this month
The price hike will come into effect from next month, so the models can still be bought at the existing prices until the year-end. Along with that, Citroen India got generous and announced benefits of up to Rs 3.5 lakh on their models.
The C3 gets benefits of up to Rs 99,000 and is the brand’s entry-level hatchback which is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is available in tune – one is naturally aspirated and produces 80 hp, while the other one is a turbo petrol that churns out 109 hp. Currently, the Citroen C3 prices start from Rs 7.03 lakh and go up to Rs 10.08 lakh (On-road, New Delhi)
The same turbo petrol unit is used in the C3 Aircross which can be bought with either a five or seven-seat layout. Talking about discounts, the C3 Aircross gets benefits of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. The Citroen C3 Aircross comes in the price range of Rs 11.27 – 14.84 lakh (On-road, New Delhi). This model is also featured in our list of top 5 cars with a Digital driver display under 12 lakh.
The C5 Aircross is the brand’s flagship SUV and uses a 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 174 hp and 400 Nm of peak torque which is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Citroen C5 Aircross is available at Rs 44.59 lakh (On-road, New Delhi).
The reason why Citroen India is providing such huge discounts on their models is probably linked to poor sales of the cars in India, which is due to their lack of features when compared to the segment rivals.
