Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor – Rebadged Fronx with Few Changes
Being a rebadge, the Urban Cruiser Taisor borrows most of its body panels from the Fronx, although there are some minor differences in Taisor which include a redesigned grille with a honeycomb pattern, revised front bumpers and Redesigned LED DRLs which are linear now compared to the 3 cubes on the Fronx. Apart from this, the tail lights have also been revised but they are connected together with a full-width light bar similar to the Fronx. The Taisor also gets newly designed 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Colour options of the Taisor – Enticing Silver, Cafe Silver, Sportin Red, Lucent Orange, and Gaming Grey. The first 3 options are available with a blacked-out roof.
Going Inside, the Urban Cruiser Taisor gets a dual-tone brown and black upholstery along with a comprehensive list of features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 360-degree camera, auto climate control, wireless charger and more. The safety of the SUV is ample thanks to features such as 6 airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
As for powertrains, the Taisor SUV is powered by the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, NA petrol and 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engines. While the former unit generates 90 hp and 113 Nm of Torque and can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission, the latter produces 100 hp and 148 Nm of Torque which can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic. Furthermore, a CNG option is also on offer with the NA engine by Toyota.
Apart from being the direct twin rival of the Maruti Fronx, the Urban Cruiser Taisor also competes with other C-SUVs such as Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
