Tata Safari and Harrier facelift have been recently teased by the brand, and it seems the cars will get some cosmetic upgrades and minor tweaks. The cars have been previously spotted several times during test runs and these changes were expected.
The bookings of both these SUVs will officially begin on October 6, 2023.
Tata Safari and Harrier facelift – Harrier remains in the shadows
Talking about the visible changes, the Safari was teased to feature a new grille design with bronze-coloured vertical lines and a wide front bumper that houses the LED headlamps setup. The design of the headlamps is similar to the new Nexon facelift with a C-shaped space for main headlamps and LED DRLs running full width at the top.
The teaser however doesn’t reveal its interior but the car is expected to be loaded with features such as a digital instrument cluster with navigation support, a Touchscreen HVAC panel, a 360-degree surrounded camera panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger, an automatic climate control, cruise control and other safety features like 6 airbags, ESC, Hill Assist Control, ADAS and more.
What the teaser also doesn’t show are the upgrades the new Harrier will get except the connected LED lightbar at the top, similar to the Safari. Maybe it’s hidden to keep the hype and suspense for the car or maybe the front is quite different from its other facelift sibling.
Both the Tata Safari and Harrier facelift will likely get a new alloy wheel design, a new tail-lamp design at the rear and new colour options if we observe the teaser properly.
Tata Safari and Harrier facelift – Powertrain, Rivals, and launch timeline
Both the Harrier and its sibling Safari facelift are expected to be equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Tata can also introduce the new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. Both these SUVs will also come with electric powertrains in the near future.
Both the Tata Safari and Harrier facelift will rival each other along with other competitors such as VW Taigun, MG Hector, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Creta which is also getting a facelift. Both SUVs will start their bookings in October and launch sometime later this year.
