Tata Motors has announced that it will debut the production-spec version of the Curvv SUV on July 19. With a scheduled launch next month, the Curvv will be the first mass-market SUV coupe in India.
Tata Curvv to Launch this week – Highlights
The Curvv will be powered by a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine that has a power output of 125 hp. This motor will be paired with both manual and automatic transmission options. Furthermore, there will also be Nexon’s 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. Meanwhile, the Curvv EV is expected to feature a 450-500 km range and will be underpinned by a Gen 2 acti. ev architecture.
Although the price of the Curvv EV is still unknown, it will likely start from around Rs 20 Lakh and the expected debut date is August 7. In Tata’s EV range, the Curvv EV will placed higher than the Nexon EV but below the Harrier EV. The ICE version will debut sometime after the EV’s launch and will likely be priced in the Rs 10 Lakh to Rs 11 Lakh range.
Upon launch, the Curvv EV will compete with the likes of Maruti eVX, Hyundai Creta EV and the MG ZS EV. On the other hand, its ICE counterpart will rival fellow midsize SUVs such as the Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
