Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to achieve one of their biggest goals yet which is to launch as many as 8 new models in the next 4 years along with doubling their production capacity to 4 million units and tripling their exports from India in the next 8 years. Moreover, they also plan to expand their portfolio from 17 to 28 by the end of this decade. The brand plans to achieve all of this through their plan which they call “Vision 3.0”.
The 28-model portfolio is tons of different powertrains including EVs, Hybrids, CNG, Petrol, Flex Fuel and ethanol-powered cars. Here’s a list of upcoming cars by the brand.
New Maruti Swift and Dezire (YED)
Maruti plans to bring the next-gen Swift, followed by the Dzire sedan with the Swift probably getting its sporty hot hatch identity back, which it had when it launched back in 2005. On the other hand, the Dzire also gets a design uplift with lighter interior shades to give it a premium look and more chrome elements.
Aside from features, both the hatchback and Sedan will get new features as well, along with the new Z-series 1.2-litre petrol engine. The models are expected to enter production from February – March 2024.
Maruti eVX SUV (YY8)
Codenamed YY9, the eVX which was spotted a few months ago will make its debut as a midsize EV SUV which will be a born-electric vehicle based on a bespoke electric platform and will compete against the Creta EV. The eVX will be built alongside its Toyota sibling and will carry two battery-back options with a max range of approximately 550 km. The brand will likely commence production of the EV SUV from September – October 2024.
XUV700 Rival (Y17)
A 3-row variant of the Grand Vitara is on its way to make a grand entrance and will be the first Maruti Suzuki unit to come out from the new Kharkodha Plant. This new SUV is built in a collab and a Toyota derivative will also be produced by Maruti and pricing will be on par with the XUV700, Safari and Alcazar. The SUV will enter the production phase from January – February 2025.
Maruti’s First EV MPV (YMC)
This EV MPV will be developed in collaboration with Toyota based on the born-EV architecture. Interestingly, this Born-Electric MPV will be Maruti’s first EV MPV and will likely share a lot of parts and components with the eVX. The MPV is expected to launch in the months of September – October 2026.
EWX-Based Hatch (K-EV)
The EWX concept was revealed by Suzuki at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show and was a futuristic EV hatchback, with a cute and minimalistic interior that looks quite similar to the Wagon R. Now, the brand is looking to launch a new EV hatchback based on the concept that will the Tiago EV. The hatch is expected to enter production in April or May 2026.
Brezza Inspired Punch Rivalling SUV (Y43)
The Brezza enjoyed immense success since its launch as the Vitara Brezza and recently crossed the million-unit mark, and now Maruti is planning to garner more success by launching a Punch Rival that will sit below the Brezza in the C-SUV segment and is expected to roll out by October or November 2026.
Suzuki Spacia-based MPV (YDB)
Maruti Suzuki is also preparing an all-new compact MPV to debut sometime in 2026 which will likely be called Spacia. The Spacia is a Japanese K-car and its stretched version is expected in India and will likely rival the Triber. Although the Japanese Spacia has sliding doors, the Indian version will have the standard ones due to costs and target audience.
