Jaguar India has recently delisted the I-Pace from their India website, meaning that the company isn’t accepting further orders for the all-electric SUV. The brand also removed the F-Type sportscar whose production stopped globally last month. With this, Jaguar only has the F-Pace SUV in their Indian portfolio.
Jaguar I-Pace Delisted From India Website: Details
The I-Pace was Jaguar’s first and only EV in the country. Launched back in 2021, the I-Pace was the 2nd luxury EV SUV under the Rs 1 crore segment and rivalled the likes of Mercedes EQC SUV and Audi e-tron. However, while the other two rivals got their due periodic updates, the I-Pace did not get any updates in the 3 years it was on sale.
Jaguar sold just 31 units of the I-Pace in FY2024, which is quite lower than the segment leader and rival, BMW iX which sold 738 units. Such a low sales record is quite unfortunate considering the I-Pace had a stunning design, complemented with a fun-to-drive luxury EV experience. However, it lagged behind its rivals when it comes to space, comfort and practicality.
The I-Pace came with a 90 kWh battery pack and two electric motors that produced 400 hp and 696 Nm of Torque. The driving range was around 400-410 km.
As for the Jaguar F-Type, it was launched in India in 2013 in its convertible version along with V6 and V8 engines. The coupe went live almost a year later while the more affordable 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor made its debut in 2018 and ultimately a mid-life facelift in 2020.
For now, the I-Pace will continue to be sold in foreign markets but will soon be discontinued ahead of the arrival of the next wave of Jaguar EVs from 2025 onwards.
