After the launch of the i20 facelift a few days back, Hyundai launched the i20 N Line facelift in India. The hatchback gets some cosmetic tweaks and the part where it changed a lot is under the hood. The N Line, by Hyundai’s claims, takes its design inspiration from the 2019 & 2020 WRC Winner i20 which gives the former a sporty and athletic look.
Hyundai i20 N Line facelift: Sporty and Athletic
The hatchback gets some minor updates when it comes to its looks. It gets new full-LED headlamps and newly designed 16-inch alloys.
Other than that, it continues with the same design but there are some, more tweaks. It gets the same front bumper with the grille and N line logo. There’s also subtle chrome garnish on the fog lamps.
The rear gets some changes with an altered bumper with more prominent red accents, a diffuser, twin exhaust outlets, a tailgate spoiler and a dark chrome element connecting the two tail lamps.
Hyundai i20 N Line facelift: Mini Powerhouse
What’s really new is under the hood. The i20 N Line facelift gets a 6-speed manual unit, which was previously a 6-speed iMT gearbox. Other than that, the i20 N Line continues with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol that produces 120hp and 172Nm torque, but what’s changed this time is that the N Line is the only variant that gets the turbo variant after Hyundai discontinued this variant in the standard N Line.
The i20 N Line also gets the 7-speed DCT, sportier exhaust note, suspension setup, and rear disc brakes like the pre-facelift model.
Hyundai i20 N Line facelift: Sporty Aesthetics
Even though the i20 N Line shares its dashboard with the standard i20, it now gets an all-black interior with subtle red accents and N line badging on the seats and steering wheel. It also gets red ambient lighting, a metal finish on the pedals and a N Line-specific steering wheel and gear lever.
Equipment is on par with the top-spec i20 including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, cruise control, auto climate control, sunroof, 7-speaker Bose sound system and more.
There are also plenty of Safety features including 6 airbags, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers, TPMS, reverse camera, ESC, and more.
Hyundai i20 N Line facelift: Rivals and Pricing
The N Line is definitely a pocket rocket with good performance, sweet features and sporty aesthetics at an affordable price.
The Hyundai i20 N Line doesn’t have any rivals since there’s no sign of the Swift Sport in the Indian market and the Altroz iturbo doesn’t get features like adjustable suspension tuning of the N Line. The pricing of the N Line starts from 9.99 lakh and goes up to 12.32 lakh and comes in two variants – N6 and N8, both of which have two sub-variants each.
The i20 N Line gets Five monotone and Two dual-tone colour options, and you will have to pay extra for some of these colours.
