The base price of the model is out while the full price list for the C3 Aircross is yet to be announced at a later date. Citroen launched the mid-size SUV at Rs 9.99 lakh for the base variant “You”. Bookings have been opened for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Citroen C3 Aircross – The “You” Variant
The base-spec variant has a 5-seat configuration, and it misses out on a lot of features which includes a touchscreen, speakers, reverse camera, and USB chargers, but comes with almost all the safety features from the top variant such as 2 airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, TPMS and reverse parking sensors.
Citroen C3 Aircross – Features and Powertrain
The C3 Aircross higher variants have features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and a reverse camera. In the 7-seater variants, the last two seats can be further removed under 20 seconds to get more boot space and you can either store away the detached seats or use them when going for outings. Under the hood, it houses a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Citroen C3 Aircross Expected Pricing
Dealerships have also received the indicative pricing of the remaining two variants. The Plus trim is expected to be priced between Rs 11.30 – 11.45 lakh, while the Max trim will be priced between Rs 11.95 – 12.10 lakh. An additional 35,000 will be charged for 7-seat configurations in the plus and max variants.
Citroen C3 Aircross rivals
The C3 Aircross belongs to a cutthroat segment and it competes with the entry-level trims of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Elevate, Kia Seltos, MG Astor and VW Taigun.
Now it is priced aggressively which might seem an edge for the SUV and also looks quite good, but it lacks some essential features like a sunroof, ventilated seats, and six airbags that are being offered by its competitors in higher variants. The base variant will suffer the most, after all, India is a market where most customers see the features, and then performance and safety come in. Having good performance and safety while compromising on basic features might be bad for the base-spec C3 Aircross because the competitors are simply offering more.
