BMW iX xDrive50 launch in India at Rs 1.40 Crore

BMW has recently launched a new higher variant of the iX in India which is the xDrive50, priced at Rs 1.40 Crore, ex-showroom, India. This new variant gets a larger battery with more range, more powerful motors and few exterior and interior changes compared to the iX xDrive40, which currently costs Rs 1.21 Crore.

As mentioned above, the iX xDrive50 gets a bigger 111.5 kWh battery pack which has a WLTP-certified range of 635 km, the iX xDrive40 on the other hand gets a 76.6 kWh battery with a lower range of 425 km. The SUV comes with two electric motors on each axle providing an AWD experience, that produces a combined 523 hp of power and 765 Nm of Torque. The engine is powerful enough since it’s capable of moving this huge EV from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.6 seconds.

According to BMW, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% in about 35 minutes with a 195 kW DC charger, 97 minutes with a 50 kW DC charger, 5.5 hours with a 22 kW AC charger and about 11 hours with an 11 kW AC Charger.

In terms of the overall design, both external and internal, the iX xDrive50 and xDrive40 look almost identical and get almost the same features and safety kit. However, the new top-spec gets new 22-inch alloy wheels and adaptive suspension as standard. There are also some unique features offered as optionals with the xDrive50, such as a Titanium Bronze exterior finish, “laserlight” headlights and active seat ventilation.

The newly launched BMW iX xDrive50 comes with a standard 2-year/unlimited km warranty and 5-year roadside assistance. Apart from that, the batteries are covered by an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty as standard. As for pricing, the new xDrive50, being the top-spec large EV SUV is now the most expensive model in its segment competitors such as the Mercedes EQE SUV (Rs 1.39 crore), Jaguar I-Pace (Rs 1.26 crore) and Audi Q8 e-tron (Rs 1.14 crore – Rs 1.27 crore).
