Audi recently launched a limited edition of their Q8 SUV for Rs 1.18 crore (ex-showroom) in India, not long after the Q8 facelift was revealed at the Munich motor show. The special edition costs a whopping 11 lacs more than the Q8 celebration variant and will be truly exclusive, meaning after buying one you might have to roam around the country to get a sight of another special edition Q8.
Audi Q8 limited edition: Any changes or additions?
The limited edition gets 21-inch alloy wheels, a bang and Olufsen sound system, and a four-zone climate control. Additionally, the SUV is offered in three color options – Mythos Black, Glacier White, and Daytona Grey paired with S-line and black styling exterior packages with fully blacked grille, wing mirrors, and roof rails. Other than that the design is similar to the outgoing model, except it gets the all-black treatment such as a single frame mark in black, black roof rails, and 5-spoke graphite grey diamond finish alloy wheels which adds to the premiumness.
Audi Q8 limited edition: Features and Powertrain
The SUV gets two touchscreens, a 10.1-inch for infotainment and another 8.5-inch for controlling the HVAC. There’s actually a third screen that Audi calls the virtual cockpit, which is basically the digital instrument cluster. There are also other basic features like a wireless charger and a rearview camera. In terms of safety, the Q8 is equipped with 8 airbags, ESP, and more.
Now the performance. The Q8 gets a 340hp, 500Nm, 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system and an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which makes the Q8 sufficiently fast considering Audi claims it can do 0-100Kph in 5.9 seconds and have a top speed of 250kph. The transmission used here is an 8-speed Tiptronic unit and also gets a Quattro AWD system.
Audi Q8 limited edition: Is it worth it?
Except for a few cosmetic changes and added features, there’s no difference with the outgoing Q8. So, it all boils down to your personal preferences and wants. Limited editions are mostly made keeping in the people’s love for owning exclusive stuff that makes them stand out, so if you want it and have the budget for it, go for it. Just don’t expect it to have 11 lakhs worth of changes than the normal Q8.
Audi Q8 Rivals and Price
The Q8 is in competition with the Porsche Cayenne Coupe (Rs 1.41 cr) and Lexus RX (95.80 Lakh – 1.19 crore) and the Q8 is available in the range of Rs 1.07 crore to 1.43 crore.
