All New Nissan Kicks SUV Debuts

The new Nissan Kicks has been revealed ahead of its official debut at the upcoming New York Motor Show 2024. The new Kicks sits on Nissan’s new CMF modular platform and is slightly bigger from all sides. This new SUV is very much similar and in fact is based on the Mitsubishi X-Force SUV which is sold in countries like Indonesia.

A lot of the body panels in the stylish Kicks are common with the XForce SUV such as the doors and roof. It also sports a similar glasshouse with a smart coupe-SUV crossover-like tapering roofline. It gets chonky wheel arches with matte black body cladding all around along with huge 19-inch alloy wheels on the top specs, which looks nothing short of a concept.

From the front, the Kicks get horizontal LEDs housed within a large black-finished area surrounding the grille. Coming back, it has a unique LED tail lamp design blended with a black trim that runs from end to end of the tailgate width.

Going inside the Kicks is a pleasure now with the use of a much more premium material than before, although the key attraction is the large 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The dashboard has a double-layered look like the Xforce, although the quality of certain parts such as the screen and the AC vents are better on the new Kicks than its Mitsubishi counterpart.

Other features include a wireless charging pad, touch-sensitive controls for climate control and HVAC, 4 USB-C ports and wireless Apple Carplay and Andriod Auto connectivity. Interestingly, the new Kicks also offers a panoramic sunroof, which is missing on the Mitsubishi XForce.

Safety is paramount in a car and Nissan has taken it quite seriously with the new Kicks since the SUV comes with several safety features such as the Nissan Safety Shield 360 ADAS Suite which includes Cruise control as standard and the Nissan ProPilot Assist in higher variants.

Nissan will be offering the new kicks as a global model in both right and left-hand drive models for markets like Australia and others. As for India the Kicks used to be on sale here but got discontinued after disastrous sales and since then the brand has been surviving with a single model in its portfolio in our market which is the budget-oriented C-SUV, the Magnite. However, the brand does have plans to launch some new models in India soon, although the Kicks is not one of them.
