Porsche has revealed the new 2024 Cayenne GTS with improved standard equipment, some design updates and more power. Since there are no hybrid models on offer here, the GTS will be the most powerful version of the Cayenne on sale in the Indian market.
India-Spec Porsche Cayenne GTS Revealed – New Features
The new Cayenne GTS now features Porsche’s Sport Design package, which adds gloss black side skirts, front inlays, window trims and wheel extensions. This package is standard along with the HD LED matrix headlights. The GTS also gets grey 21-inch wheels and bronze-coloured tailpipes.
The SUV now gets the Porsche Driver Experience System, which adds a curved digital driver’s display as standard. Other standard features include ambient lighting and a premium Bose sound system. The Coupe GTS further gets a panoramic sunroof and an extending rear spoiler with a passenger-side infotainment display as optional. Porsche is also offering 3 lightweight packages that add new features such as a lighter roof, reduced insulation and a carbon rear diffuser, which in turn reduces the SUV’s weight by a max of 25 kg.
The Sporty SUV also features a new chassis tech and sits 10 mm lower than before. There’s also an adaptive air suspension as standard fitment now which was already in use in the Turbo E-Hybrid and Turbo GT models. The System also includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus).
The new Cayenne GTS is powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine but the power output is now up from 460 hp to 500 hp while the Torque also increases from 620 Nm to 659 Nm. The unit comes paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, which according to Porsche has been tweaked to offer quicker response and shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes. With the upgrade, the SUV can now go 0 to 100 kph in just 4.4 seconds, which is only 0.1 seconds quicker than before.
The new Cayenne GTS and Coupe GTS will go live in India around mid-2024 with a price tag of approximately Rs 2.5 crore. The standard Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe as of now are priced at Rs 1.36 crore and Rs 1.42 crore respectively. Unfortunately, Porsche is not offering its hybrid line-up in India due to low demand for previous models and hence the GTS will be the sole v8 offering in India rather than the lower-powered S. Apart from this, the lower-spec variant of the Porsche Macan EV is also expected to come to India soon.
