Hero Glamour Spotted with LCD Console & Cruise Control

The Spy shots reveal a test mule that appears to be the Glamour, which is part of Hero’s commuter lineup. Instead of the usual black and white camouflage, the bike is wrapped in brown duct tape.

It gets a colour LCD instrument cluster which is borrowed from the Xtreme 250R with a vertical rev counter; however, given the price and positioning, it misses out on some features like the oil temperature indicator.

The star of the show, however, is the addition of the cruise control, which is going the first of any Hero motorcycle. The brand’s decision to test this feature on a commuter motorcycle rather than on the premium models like Mavrick 440, Xtreme 250R and Xpulse 210 is interesting. If Hero offers it at its current price point (Rs 95,098) or with a bit of a price hike, it could become the most affordable motorcycle with cruise control, the position being currently held by the TVS Apache RTR 310.

The price hike might be inevitable because the cruise control system’s ride-by-wire technology will significantly increase costs, and this may not be received well by the price-sensitive 125 cc segment in India.

The Hero Glamour is currently offered in 2 variants – Standard and Xtec. Among these two, the Xtec models are generally more focused on features, so the cruise control feature might be added to this model.
