Upcoming 2024 Bajaj CNG Bike Spied Again

The upcoming Bajaj CNG motorbike has been spotted again and although still camouflaged, it seems that the brand is closer to moving the bike into the production phase. The spy shots give us a glimpse at the side profile of the first-ever mass-produced CNG motorcycle.

The motorcycle is expected to debut by the end of July and will be targeted towards commuters in cities that have a huge network of CNG pumps rather than ICE workhorses like the CT series.

The overall design of the CNG bike is more commuter-oriented oriented with its proportions looking similar to a 100cc -125cc commuter segment two-wheeler. The test mule sports a single-piece seat and round headlamps. single-piece grab-rail, a tyre hugger, a simple tail and an exhaust with a chrome heat shield which looks similar to the ones which commuter bikes generally use. As for headlights, the brand could offer LEDs (Most likely halogen since it is going to be a budget bike), along with hand guards which will likely made of plastic.

Since Bajaj has seemingly designed this bike with a modern-retro touch, the bike being a budget commuter bike might feature either a semi-digital or fully analogue instrument cluster.

Although the engine details are not disclosed as of now, the Chakan-based bikemaker seems to be targeting the 100 cc to 160 cc commuter segment, so this bike might pick up its engine from any of the existing Bajaj commuters. The bike features telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, the braking seems to be handled by a single disc at the front and a drum at the rear, both brakes mounted on 17-inch wheels.

The upcoming CNG bike was also spotted alongside Platina recently to run tests for benchmarks, so it’s possible the CNG bike will have similar or higher fuel efficiency than the Platina, which is considered to be one of the most fuel-efficient bikes in the country.
