The 1200 X looks quite similar to the XC variant which the former replaced and in fact gets an identical digital cluster with optional features such as turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts. The bike also gets 5 riding modes – Rain, Road, Sport, Off-road, and bespoke Rider along with features such as an IMU-enabled traction control system and cornering dual-channel ABS. To add the cherry on the top, there are more than 70 official accessories, ranging from aesthetically pleasing to practicality.
The Scrambler 1200 X also features a single-piece seat with a lower seat height of 795 mm, while the standard height on offer is 820 mm, thus making the 1200 X quite accessible for most riders. The X trim is also different from the top-spec XE in terms of riding stance since the handlebar on the latter is 65 mm wider than the former. Moreover, the XE also gets adjustable foot levers.
Talking about specs, the Triumph Scrambler 1200 X s built on a tubular steel frame, suspended by non-adjustable front USD forks and pre-load adjustable twin rear shocks, with 170mm wheel travel. Both the suspension also gets piggyback reservoirs thanks to Marzocchi.
Meanwhile, the braking is handled by twin 310 mm discs with a two-piston Nissin axial calliper at the front and a single 255 mm disc with a single-piston floating Nissin calliper at the rear, both assisted by an ABS system. The motorbike rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear aluminium wheels wrapped in 90/90 and 150/70 rear tubeless tyres. The bike weighs 228 kilos and the fuel tank capacity is 15 litres.
Powering the Scrambler 1200 X is a parallel twin, 1200 cc, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crank that generates 89 bhp at 7,000 RPM and 110 Nm of torque at 4,250 RPM. The unit is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Outside India, the Triumph 1200 X has a starting price of 11,895 euros (approx Rs 11.93 lakh) and goes all the way up to the Top-spec XE which costs 13,295 euros (approx Rs 13.33 lakh), so we the get the bike for Rs 10,000 less in Indian market.
